Karina Robinson FCSI (Hon) is CEO of Redcliffe Advisory, providing Chairman and CEO advisory services. A champion of the City of London and a benign disruptor, she connects the worlds of Deep Tech, Finance and Defence.

In the Deep Tech world, she's Senior Advisor to Multiverse Computing, Europe's latest AI & Quantum unicorn, and Founder of The City Quantum & AI Summit, now heading into its sixth year. She contributed to shaping NATO's Quantum Strategy.

Karina is an Adviser to MissionLink, a national security and innovation group, and to The Entrepreneurs Network. She is an Emeritus Governor of the London School of Economics.

In the City, she chaired the Lord Mayor's Appeal Advisory Board and served as a Trustee, helping grow it into a lasting institution, and was Master of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.

The first half of her career was spent as a journalist covering finance and international politics, firstly as Political & Economic Correspondent at Bloomberg and then as Senior Editor of The Banker magazine.  As a digital immigrant, she is still bemused that the second half of her career is in frontier technologies.

For our welcome back event on Wednesday 16th of September,  we're gathering somewhere a little different: Pipa, the beautifully curated concept shop tucked into Maida Vale.

Its founder, Bhavna will welcome us over a glass of something crisp. Bhavna was raised on the Indian coast, daughter of a naval officer with a wanderer's spirit and an interior designer mother with an eye for beauty; she was mid-adventure abroad when she met the Danish husband who'd later back her to open Pipa. Eighteen years on, with 3 boys and many more adventures —including COVID —it's still one of London's best-kept secrets for exceptional finds: elegant homeware, unique women's clothing, and the kind of children's toys you actually want to look at.

Bhavna will open the shop just for us, glass in hand, for an evening of light, refreshing wines, dry nibbles, and better conversation among the shelves.

We’re delighted that September is also harvest time, and Bordeaux Wine Month, so we are partnering with The Little Fine Wine Company and Vins de Bordeaux to include as part of the evening’s festivities a fantastic mini masterclass of Bordeaux wines, including a White, Rose, Red and Sweet wine. Led by Victoria Stephens-Clarkson (Master of Wine and Director of The Little Fine Wine Company). We will be learning all about the region and the many delicious styles of wine that it offers. And we will also be hosting a quiz with prizes on the night for the winning team! This is a great opportunity to learn about a famous wine region on an informal basis, while enjoying the shop and sipping great wine in between the networking. The wines will also be available after the event at a discount for London Women and Wine Club members

Join us for our now traditional, outdoor Opera evening in one of the most unique London summer evenings!

After last year's total success, we have decided to come back to Holland Park for another evening full of laughter, songs, and good wines!!

Doors open at 5.15 pm and we suggest arriving at 6.15 pm. (Our table will be ready by 5.15 pm, so feel free to come before)

Performances start at 7.15. There is an interval at 8.30-45 pm for 30 minutes. The performance ends around 9.35 / 9.45, and we can go back to our table if we want until it closes at 11 pm. A picnic from an Italian Deli will be made available and is included in the price (along with the cost of the performance). We ask that you Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) to share with the rest of the group. This particular event is meant to be more about relaxing and networking and less about speakers or wine information.

Cecilia Stinton’s new production of Così fan tutte sees a return to comedy from the director of last year’s highly praised production of Donizetti’s gothic tragedy, Lucia di Lammermoor, with designs again by Neil Irish and lighting by Robert Price. Former Opera Holland Park Young Artist and rising star in opera and on the concert platform Charlotte Corderoy (The Barber of Seville, 2024) conducts, with a cast led by Paul Carey Jones (The Flying Dutchman, 2025) and Elizabeth Karani (Acis and Galatea, 2024) as the scheming cynic Don Alfonso and his on/off accomplice Despina. 

They are joined by Paul Grant (Figaro in Stinton’s 2024 Barber) as the hot-headed young solider Guglielmo, and by Madeleine Boreham and Shakira Tsindos (Opera Holland Park Young Artists Hansel and Gretel, 2023) as sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella, both of whom enjoy his attentions as the plot unfolds.

In the London Women and Wine Club, we bring together women to connect, learn, and be inspired over great wine and great conversation. Our mission has always been to celebrate strong women and community values.

And these resonate deeply with the fight against breast cancer. Many of us have witnessed firsthand the toll cancer takes on loved ones and the courage it demands. That’s why we’re proud and excited to offer a new type of event : taking part in The Moonwalk London 2026! It is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and walk together in honour of those affected (and continue to network and chat and prolong these friendships in a healthy way).

We will participate as a Team:  The London and Wine Club Team. There are various way to participate

- Physically on the 16th of May in London: either 26.2 miles; or 15.1 miles

- Virtually: (Wherever you want)  choice of 3 dates and choice of distance on the 9th of May, 16th, 23rd 

Please choose the version that suits you. You cannot, however, walk the longer version if you have chosen the shorter one. However,  you can stop at any time and walk at your own rhythm. It is not a race, it is a walk in beautiful London for a cause that every woman could be exposed to.

Brigitte is an AI, geopolitical, and misinformation researcher who focuses on understanding artificial intelligence and developing adaptive policy in response to emerging technology. She is currently a Senior Research Coordinator at the Berkman Klein Centre at Harvard University, where she works on policy, interpretability, and agentic AI. 

Prior to joining the Berkman Klein Centre team, she worked at ActiveFence, a trust and safety start-up, where she led open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering and influencer mapping efforts to identify emerging geopolitical misinformation trends proliferating online. Brigitte managed teams monitoring elections in Europe, the United States, and the APAC region.

Brigitte was previously a Yale Fox Fellow at Tel Aviv University, where she researched Sino-Israeli relations and the impact of the Digital Silk Road on the region and received an M.A. in Security and Diplomacy. Brigitte received her B.A. in History from Yale University with a focus on 20th-century European military history.

Brigitte will explain why everyone is talking about AI and the impact it already has on society. She will also talk about what the future could hold and the risks and opportunities of this new technology.

We will be having wines to complement the AI theme and a seated dinner at St Jacques restaurant, starting with drinks at 18:30 and seating for dinner at 19:00.

Laura’s career in wine started as a Sommelier over twenty years ago. The early years were spent alongside the industry’s finest, including World Sommelier Champion Gérard Basset MS, MW, where she earned her wine stripes at prestigious competitions and in Michelin starred dining rooms. 

In 2009 Laura won the highly respected “UK Sommelier of the Year" title and in 2010 achieved Master Sommelier status from the Court of Master Sommeliers - one of just 267 in the world. Of those, 34 are women, with only 6 based in Europe

Inspired by the passion of the English winemakers she met as a sommelier and excited by the quality of the wines she tasted, Laura continued her career at the pinnacle of the rapidly evolving English wine industry, joining Gusbourne in 2015, as Global Ambassador, where her role encompassed ambassadorial and development duties both in UK and internationally, whilst also working closely with the winemaking and vineyard teams.

Gusbourne planted their first vines in 2004 with a single-minded vision: to craft the world’s finest sparkling wines. This means being detail-focused and quality obsessed, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in English wine, whilst crafting vintage-only bottlings from estate-grown, hand-harvested grapes

After more than ten years at Gusbourne, in her current role as Head of Wine communication, Laura continues to work closely with the winemaking team in Appledore taking a key role in base wine grading, blending and trials. In addition to continuing her responsibilities as Global Ambassador, she also leads on communication and education of Gusbourne’s wines, both internally and externally, as well as active involvement in sales and marketing strategy and new product development.

Aside from her role at Gusbourne, Laura judges for Sommelier competitions as well as national and international wine competitions and is an active member of the Court of Master Sommeliers Europe.  

Janet is the author of The Chinese Wine Renaissance (published by Penguin Randomhouse and shortlisted for ‘the Oscars of Wine’: Louis Roederer Wine Book of the Year 2019 and overall winner of 2020 Gourmand Awards World Wine category).  She has appeared on British national radio and TV (BBC and Channel 4), TEDxSOHO, as well as running wine events for corporate and social occasions, beverage sector investors, universities (Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, SOAS), China-related forums and high-profile private members clubs such as 67 Pall Mall, to introduce wines and wine culture to experts and novices alike.  She is an internationally acclaimed specialist on Chinese wine, the principal Chinese speaking member of the prestigious Circle of Wine Writers and Association of Wine Educators, and Asia Region wine judge at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. 

Janet began her wine writing career in 2012. Prior to this, she graduated from the University of Cambridge in Computer Science and was an investment banker in London for ten years. She also combines her knowledge in wine, finance and technology to advise on private wine portfolios.

We’re thrilled to return to Kristin Hjellegjerde’s beautiful gallery for our Welcome Back Drinks, where we’ll be joined by a dynamic female-only tailoring team creating bespoke suits for modern women and also beautiful dresses, etc...

Since founding her gallery, Kristin Hjellegjerde has built an impressive global presence with spaces in London, Berlin, and West Palm Beach. Her commitment to cross-cultural dialogue has led to bold exhibitions, including Kubatana—Norway’s largest African art show—and an upcoming Latin American showcase in 2027. A newly renovated London Bridge space will open the same year.

Joining us are Rosie and Jemma, who carry on the legacy of Phoebe Gormley, founder of Gormley & Gamble—the first women’s-only tailor on Savile Row. While Phoebe is now pursuing new ventures, Rosie and Jemma lead with flair:

• Rosie, Queen of the Atelier, works hands-on with clients, designing and fitting exquisite, made-to-measure pieces
• Jemma, Queen of the Wardrobe, brings her styling expertise and business acumen, helping clients choose looks that blend seamlessly with their lifestyle.

To toast the evening, Victoria Stephens Clarkson MW, founder of The Little Fine Wine Company, has curated a trio of wines (white, rosé, red) by female winemakers. We’ll also enjoy sparkling wine from Dawn Jones Cooper of Château Monfaucon, and organic grape juice for non-drinkers.

Michelin-quality canapés will be served by Lorenzo Salami and his (mostly female!) team of private chefs.

Vidya Narasimhan is an independent wine consultant who has recently transitioned to the wine industry. After years in Management Consulting and Banking across 3 continents, Vidya now advises Private Equity Firms on investments in Food and Wine, besides doing a range of other wine-related activities such as hosting wine tastings for corporates and private groups, judging wine competitions, providing wine recommendations for supper clubs and restaurants. She lends her voice to diversity, inclusion and sustainability initiatives in the wine industry. 

She has completed her Diploma in Wine from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). She has completed the trio of Wine Scholar programmes from the Wine Scholar Guild (WSG): French Wine Scholar (Highest Honours), Spanish Wine Scholar (Highest Honours) and Italian Wine Scholar (Honours). She is currently enrolled for the Bordeaux Masters Programme at the WSG. 

Vidya is a wine judge, judging for London Wine Competition (LWC – 2025), Glass of Bubbly Awards (2023), Decanter Retailer Awards (2022) and People’s Choice Drinks Awards (2022 and 2023). She is an Advisory Board Member for Be Inclusive Hospitality (BIH) and an Ambassador for the Sustainable Wine Roundtable (SWR). She has an MBA from the Ross School of Business, Michigan (2006). 

Vidya’s passion for food and wine appreciation stems from love for travel when she would seek to eat and drink local in her global travels to understand culture and cuisine. Vidya is keen to make wine appreciation and learning an adventure - fun, approachable and accessible. 

This will be a fun event, where we will talk about different formats in the market and whether "bag in the box" or "canned wine" are still as horrible as they once were. We will taste and compare the new formats to bottled wine and will discuss how these formats may help the wine industry stem a decline in new, young drinkers by appearing more fun and enjoyable. Vidya can also speak about how she made the change from management consultant and banking to the wine industry.

We will be having a private room at Bancone in Borough Yards, a hip area with lots of fun bars and restaurants, tasting delicious Italian food with a range of different wines (bottles as well as some bag in the box).
